In a down economy, one grantmaker changes its application process

The Prince Charitable Trusts in Washington, DC will no longer accept unsolicited grant proposals.

“This change in policy is primarily a result of the economic situation and is intended to save organizations the added work of preparing proposals that cannot be funded.” (via Foundation Center)

We should also note that Prince Charitable Trusts accepts Washington Grantmakers’ common grant application and common letter of intent formats. This is another way grantmakers can help nonprofits accomplish more with limited staff time.
