Have you ever wondered what Washington Grantmakers’ Working Groups and Funding Collaboratives are all about? Who can join? When they meet? What they’ve accomplished? Why you should care?
Please join us on Thursday, March 20 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. for Washington Grantmakers 101, an introduction and orientation to the issue work that is core to our membership. It will be held in our building at the Conference Center, 1400 16th Street, NW, Washington, DC.
All grantmakers are welcome at this free event. To register, call Member Services Manager Katy Moore at 202/939-3436. (Members, you may also register online here.)
If you’re funding in the arts, health, public education, HIV-AIDS, low-income housing, the environment or children, youth and families issues, joining your colleagues for this afternoon will be important. You’ll learn how becoming involved will benefit both you, personally, and the communities in which you work.
Following this session, we’re hosting a CEO Welcome Reception, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Stay for a glass of wine with new colleagues and old friends, and help us welcome our network’s newest leaders: Phyllis Caldwell, the new President of the Washington Area Women’s Foundation; Pat Mathews, new Executive Director of the Northern Virginia Health Foundation; Karen Green, new Executive Director of the Healthcare Initiative Foundation; and Lyn Hainge, new Executive Director of the Campbell Hoffman Foundation.
Come to learn. Come to network. Come to have some fun! I hope to see you there.
