D.C. VOTING RIGHTS
The vast majority of Republicans in the U.S. Senate have voted to block consideration of the D.C. voting rights bill. The bill’s supporters argued passionately in favor of ending “the injustice, the national embarrassment that citizens of this great capital city don’t have voting representation in Congress.” Those who voted to block the bill made no speeches.
